Dance as if your life depended on it Featured
"Take time out for You, Move your Body, get your Sweat on, Breathe, Remember, Pray, Dance as if your Life depended on it"
Life is where we get to practice our Yoga and find balance in everyday life. Getting out of our heads and into our bodies is essential for moving stagnant qi (chi) and opening up the channels for creative life force to organically move through us.
It's amazing how easy it is to NOT go upstairs into my beautiful Bamboo Sanctuary and do my movement practice. I have to stop what I am doing (usually on my computer) and create the space for me, carve out time from my day to stop, listen and turn my gaze inward, moving my body in a way that nurtures my spirit.
Pausing and feeling into the pulse of creation, I surrender and allow my body to move in full expression of my true inner self.
Grateful, full and recharged I bow in reverence.

Thank you Mark, this is so true. Your comment reminds me of why I love traveling so much and seeing the way other cultures live. For instance the siesta in Europe and the call to prayer in Muslim countries. These cultures have these 'stopping points' built into the fabric of their daily life. A chance to stop what they are doing and remember God, or remember to rest, pause and relax. (what a concept) And so, for us, yes we must find a way to pause, breathe and connect in with ourselves as we continue with our day.

I believe that we all need to create intentional 'stopping points' through the day to breathe and to meditate, if only for a few moments. The world is so busy and society calls for us to be everything all at once. This is not the way of happiness. Happiness is dancing as if our lives depended on it... Sofiah, you are always such an inspiration. Thank you for what you do!
