Small Group and Private Classes with Nicole
Dance Classes / Workshops
Nicole has been dancing all of her life. Growing up on the competitive dance circuit, she won many top honors and accolades. By the age of 14 she was teaching her own classes and winning choreography awards. Her passionate pursuit has led her to study as many styles of dance and yoga as possible over the years. The past decade Nicole taught at many NYC studios and has been a sought after choreographer for theatre and more. Her wide variety of experience makes her an excellent teacher for students of any age/level.
American Standard and Latin Ballroom:
These styles of dance have become wildly popular due to shows like Dancing with the Stars. They are very social and performed with a partner based on a Lead/Follow principle (although you do not need a partner to take class). We will learn the basic posture, hold, and footwork to perform in sequence. Couples will be encouraged to rotate and try dancing with different people throughout the lesson to get a better sense of partnering. For longer events students will learn more advanced moves with time to practice and implement them in a social dance environment without the steps being dictated. Amererican Standard styles are elegant and swift, while the Latin styles are spicy with a lot of spins and hip action! Many of the Ballroom styles are used as the “First Dance” for wedding couples, let us know if you would like Nicole to choreograph yours!
Foxtrot is epitomized by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The music is upbeat and puts a light lilting bounce in your step (think Sinatra, Michael Buble, Ella Fitzgerald and such!)
East Coast Swing
The East Coast Swing is a ton of fun with high energy music. We begin with the basics in single time and work our way up to triple time. This style has a lot of moves that LOOK complicated with turns, hand-changes, etc., but with a bit of practice you’ll be ready to impress at your next event.
Beginner Salsa Standard or On-2 (NY style)
Popular world-wide, Salsa class will cover basic footwork and figures like the cross-body lead, under-arm turns, and more! Move your hips and learn some latin flair!
Like the Salsa, ChaCha is also high energy and fast moving, with a combination of double time and triple, so it is a bit more challenging. We’ll slow it down to master the steps then take it up a notch for some real fun.
The Rumba is best suited for beginners as it is much slower, but still has that sexy Latin spice! It’s smooth and oozy, very passionate and lots of fun.
Hip Hop / Pop
Hip Hop/ Pop is a high energy class all about having fun! Incorporating dance moves that can be used outside of class in your everyday life (at clubs, parties, etc.) this class caters to your level of knowledge. We will explore movement from several hip-hop/pop dance styles; influenced by a variety of music genres, from Rap/R&B to Pop/Rock or Techno/DubStep. You also have the option to choose your favorite song/video that you would like to learn the choreography to.
Diva’s Dance Burlesque
The Art of Burlesque was created by independent and confident women who weren't afraid to push boundaries and express themselves through the art of dance. Connect to your inner Diva with Burlesque's core-strengthening and full-body toning, sultry moves. Nicole will teach the classic technique and gestures (such as the shimmy, quiver, etc.) that have made this style of dance so popular today. For use on the dance floor or in the boudoir, either way you'll leave feeling like a Burlesque Beauty! Props will be provided.
This class teaches some classic combinations from some of Broadway’s most popular shows. From Bob Fosse’s “All That Jazz” to Susan Stroman’s “Contact,” you’ll learn the moves that will have you performing like a Broadway star!
This style has become popular with the masses due to the wonderful choreography seen on such shows as So You Think You Can Dance. Increase your strength and flexibility as you learn phrases of movement that will have you feeling like you are on the show.
Ballet is one of the best full body workouts around! We will go through a standard ballet, warmup, barre series and adagio. Don’t worry if you’ve never taken class before- we will start with the basics: alignment, technique and footwork.
The Waltz is a slower dance, fluid and floating. The 3/4 timing of the waltz can be a bit more challenging, but with a little practice you’ll be waltzing around the room.

Most of the above styles are also available for children’s classes. The music, choreography and content will be altered based on the age of participants.
